Essential Oils and the Doctrine of Signatures

So most of us know that essential oils are distilled or extracted from various parts of the plants and trees.  The essential oils that we use are stored in secretory sacs in the roots, leaves, wood, flowers, leaves, seeds, fruits, bark and resin.  While we readily look to the chemistry of the essential oil to determine its therapeutic uses, we can also look to the plant and tree as well as the particular part of that plant and tree that the oil comes from.

In today’s world we analyze nature by way of technological imaging, before nature was simply what we saw in front of us.  As Matthew Wood states, “The doctrine of signatures is used around the world in pre-modern cultures where thought-by-association is accepted as a valid means of obtaining knowledge of the world.  The idea is that a plant that looks like the disease, organ, or person it will heal.”

In this teleseminar we will explore:

• The correlations between certain essential oils and plant parts
• Therapeutic blending according to the Doctrine of Signatures
• The energetics and applications of various plant parts
• Signatures and Symbolism

Join us and look at essential oils and extracts in a whole new way!

“The practice must not proceed from the theory, but the theory from practice.”  -Paracelsus

About Cynthia Brownley, MS, LMT, CCAP Joy Musacchio MS, LMT, CCAP  (combined bio)

Cynthia and Joy have shared a blackboard, so to speak, for many years.  Cynthia and Joy have been teaching together for over 20 years, and bring their combined knowledge and authenticity of education and essential oils to every class they teach.  They both have their Master’s Degree in education, taught elementary school in New York and worked extensively with Columbia University as “turn key “ teachers to train the teachers in their district.

Cynthia and Joy are certified clinical aromatherapisits and have been working with essential oils for over 20 years.

In 2005, Cynthia and Joy co-founded Stillpoint…Living in Balance, Inc. a Therapeutic Massage and Energetic Balancing  in Sedona, Arizona.

In 2010, they co founded Stillpoint Aromatics, and essential oil company that imports over 225 organic and wild harvested essential oils, hydrosols, and resins from distillers worldwide.  All of the essential oils at Stillpoint Aromatics are GC/MS tested for their chemical composition, but of equal importance is the energetic and vibrational component.  Cynthia and Joy hand pour each essential oil with conscious intention for the individual when an order is received.

In 2010, they also co founded Stillpoint Studies… School of Essential Oils and Energetics.  Stillpoint Studies earned accreditation of both the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) and the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) in 2012.  Stillpoint offers a 250 Aromatherapy Certification Program as well as a 180 hour Advanced Mastery Program.   They also offer various weekend aromatherapy workshops highlighting both the chemistry and the energetics of essential oils.
