Director of Education at the Herb Research Foundation’s medical library in Boulder, Colo. She is co-author of Aromatherapy, A Complete Guide to the Healing Art; author of Calendula; Natural Perfumes; and All About Aromatherapy. She has authored numerous articles, and has collaborated on several other books on botanicals. Mindy has conducted many seminars, classes and training programs for professionals and the lay public, and provides consulting services in all aspects of complementary health care. As an expert in botanical healthcare, she has provided over 400 interviews with leading magazines and newspapers on herbs and health. Mindy has served on the faculty of the Boulder-based Rocky Mt. Center for Botanical Studies and the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, and was co-director and a faculty member of the California School of Herbal Studies for ten years. A licensed esthetician and massage therapist with many years of experience in the natural skin care industry, she has founded and owned several herb and essential oil businesses, including her current consulting and education business, Green Scentsations. She is a nationally certified Registered
Aromatherapist, a founding member of the American Herbalists Guild and
associate editor of the American Herb Association Newsletter. She has
served on the education committees of the Aromatherapy Registration Council
and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapists. She is currently
on the advisory board of the Australasian College of Health Sciences,
and on the Board of Directors of United Plant Savers (501(c)3). Mindy
holds a bachelor’s degree in Holistic Health Sciences and a master’s
degree in Health and Human Services from Columbia Pacific University,
with extensive training in the advanced uses of essential oils from Purdue
University, and in botanicals and spa therapies from many other institutes
