What is a Registered Aromatherapist? ACHS President and Chair of the Aromatherapy Registration Council Dorene Petersen will lead you through a discussion of what it means to be a Registered Aromatherapist, including information about the Aromatherapy Registration Council (ARC), the ARC Aromatherapy Registration Exam, and the benefits of becoming a Registered Aromatherapist.

Dorene will also talk about ARC's goals and mission statement, why professional Aromatherapists should be concerned about public safety, and the importance of understanding adverse reaction when working with essential oils.

Dorene Petersen is President and Founder of the American College of Healthcare Sciences. She holds a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from Otago University, New Zealand, a Diploma in Natural Therapeutics from the South Pacific College of Natural Therapies in Auckland, New Zealand, where she studied and specialized in aromatherapy, and is a certified acupuncturist with specialized training in Chinese herbal medicine and moxibustion. Dorene serves as Chair of the Aromatherapy Registration Council and is a member of the Research and Educational Standards Subcommittee of the Distance Education Training Council. www.achs.edu (800) 487-8839
