In this presentation we will discuss symptoms typically seen with various life-limiting disease processes, what essential oils are effective in the final stages and how they're applied, when you would consider altering the standard dilution rate, and how you can help even if you don't work in hospice. Common symptoms include constipation, muscular aches, anxiety, terminal agitation, depression, nausea, edema, respiratory issues, dry, cracked nasal passages from using oxygen, dry lips and various skin issues. We'll explore questions such as: Can you do anything for nausea if smells make it worse? What can be done if the patient has an odorous wound? Do essential oils interfere with pharmaceuticals? What's effective for pediatric hospice patients?
