He has worked for leading
aroma companies such as H.E. Daniel, CPL, PMS, Robertet UK, and GPL, but
for the past 5 years Tony has been employed as an independent consultant
to the trade.
Academic Experience.
After initially qualifying as a food scientist, he returned to academia
mid-career to do a further degree in biochemistry, eventually becoming
a Chartered Biologist. This was followed by a period of post-doctoral
research in the microbiological biotransformation of essential oil components
at Cranfield University.
Experience in Professional Organisations.
Tony was previously Co-Chair, and then Chair of the NAHA Safety Committee
1998-2001, an Hon. Member (Scientific Advisor) to the RQA and the IFPA,
and an Hon Member & Scientific adviser to IFA, as well as being co-opted
as an adviser to the ATC. He is also on the editorial committee for the
International Journal of Aromatherapy, and has been Science Editor of
the Aromatherapy Times (2004). He is also a founder and a principal contributor
to Cropwatch, a campaigning organization concentrating on various issues
surrounding the status and exploitation of aromatic & medicinal crops,
which can be found at www.cropwatch.org.
Publications.
October/November 2000 saw the publication of "Natural Aromatic Materials
- Odours & Origins" which was published by the Atlantic Institute
of Aromatherapy (AIA) in Tampa, which is shortly coming up to its second
corrected revised and expanded edition.
Miscellaneous.
Tony is also currently involved in a number of projects and courses,
concerning the further understanding and co-operation in Aromatherapy,
Raw
Materials and Natural Perfumery. Tony is co-founder and a moderator of
the
AromaReseach e-mail group which can be found at

Tony offers an Independent consultancy service to the aroma
and raw materials trade.
